Technically, I should be posting two days separately, but you'll see why I'm combining them. Honestly? I'm still in prep-mode. What can I say? I love to be fashionably late. I know. Fail. But there is something for you! I took the foundation pictures that I'll use to check my progress. These are not the official pictures (I haven't received them), but they start me out as an open book. You see where I am. Now it's time to work on progressing! |
Day 1
It's officially my start date for the Gold's Gym challenge! It's also our shoulder day, PM cardio. It should also be the start of my new diet. Ask me how much of this actually occurred. Go ahead. I dare you.
The answer is, obviously, none. Well, technically the challenge started. I, however, slept until 4:30 pm. I'm not sure what I did, but my back is angry. When my back is angry, my motivation goes really low. I haven't finished the macros and meal planning for food yet, either.
I basically got up, ate vegetable soup and some toast, and slept on the couch. Then I got up at closer to 5, made flank steak and veggies, ate, and got ready for bed. Not so successful day 1.

Day 2
Well, today was more productive.
I got up early to go do a fasting blood draw at 10 am (we're going to rule out anything medical as to why I've kinda plateaued)...to find out they open at 11. Fail. Wait until 11 and get that done. Nothing in the urine so we're waiting for the blood results.
We headed over to the gym for chest & tris day, but first I needed to take my official photos and get measured and everything. It's one thing to stand on a scale, it's another for someone to record it (along with BF, inches, etc.)
By the time I was done, James was 90% done with the workout. I jumped in on a few single arm tricep extensions and attempted some bench presses after that. Word to the wise, don't do bench presses after triceps. Duh. My arms were already so tired they were over it. Not to mention, my back hated lying on the bench. Fail.
We called it done, headed to Chick-Fil-A and called the day done-ish. I've basically been grumpy on the couch, researching diet stuff and products since then.
I did get to watch James train one of his students. If you're not following his business Instagram, you should (@alphacombatives).
Then we took photos and here I am.
Tomorrow will be better. Next week will be better. Only one way to go--up (well, down in weight lol).

Before photos - 1/15/2015
I post these to celebrate that this is the last time I'll look like this.
Let me tell you, it's super hard to take photos and fight your instincts to flex or suck it in. Every photo you see of me is me sucked into fabric, flexing, or with the right camera angle. It's amazing what just being me looks like. Actually, I was hesitant to post these, but I promised everyone 100% openness and honesty. So, here we go.
